The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is an entrance exam held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for those students who are planning for medical courses at the graduate and postgraduate levels after completion of their board exam. Number of Questions 200 MCQs out of which 180 MCQs must be answered

Type of Questions Objective type questions with 4 options having 1 correct option
Duration of Exam The exam duration is 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). PwD candidates will be provided additional 65 minutes for NEET exam.
Subjects Questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology(Botany & Zoology). Each subject is divided into two sections: Section A and B. Section A will contain 35 questions and Section B will have 15 questions.
Of these 15 questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions. Total number of questions remains the same as earlier, 45 questions per section.
Language The question paper is asked in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Punjabi.
Marking Scheme 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer. Negative marking: 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer

Changes Has Done in NEET For 2024 By NTA Agency

As of now, there are no official announcements regarding changes in the syllabus for NEET 2024. It is advisable to refer to previous year’s syllabus until any official updates are release still remains same as previous year paper-pencil (offline) based exam will be conducted for a duration of 200 minutes.

NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria For NEET Students

Age Limit For NEET Aspirants : The minimum age limit is 17. NEET upper age limit has been removed, and anyone can apply for the medical entrance exam.

.Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognized board.

Aggregate Marks : For General Category candidates, the minimum aggregate marks required in the qualifying examination are 50% (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. For PwD candidates belonging to the General Category, the minimum aggregate marks required are 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category, the minimum aggregate marks required are 40% (35% for PwD candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET UG.

Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for NEET UG 2024. However, foreign nationals are eligible only for admission to seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions/AFMS. Foreign nationals are not eligible for admission to seats under the control of the Central Government or State Governments/Universities/Institutions/AFMS.

NEET Application Process : 5 Total Process For NEET Application

1. Registration: Visit the official website of NEET 2024 and click on the ‘New Registration’ link. Fill in the required details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc., and submit the form.

2. Completion of Online Application Form: After registration, log in to the portal using your login details and fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details.

3. Uploading of Required Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents such as Class 10th mark sheet, Class 12th mark sheet, etc., as per the specifications mentioned on the website.

4. Payment of Application Fees: Pay the application fee online using a debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI or any other available payment mode.

5. Submission and Downloading of Confirmation Page: After successful payment, submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
